Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage has started holding video game tournaments, and here’s how they work

It isn’t the whirring, binging noises of slot machines that have attracted hundreds of people to 360 Sports at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage on recent Friday nights, but a different kind of game play: video games.

In mid-July, the Coachella Valley resort started holding weekly “eSports After Dark” tournaments at its sports bar, where guests can play titles from such series as Smash Bros, Mortal Kombat and Dragon Ball Z games on the bar’s large, wraparound screens for a chance to win cash prizes and gaming-related items.
