Two suspects in three overnight armed robbery attempts were injured after being shot by Palm Springs officers at the Agua Caliente Casino early Wednesday.

The shooting happened about 2 a.m. in the casino parking structure after officers responded to the scene to investigate reports of an attempted robbery that occurred about 12:45 a.m., Lt. William Hutchinson said.

The suspects, who may have been from outside the area, drove from the scene of the first robbery attempt in a white Honda Accord, authorities said.

Kate Anderson, director of public relations for the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, said that the downtown casino is open 24 hours, but would not say whether it or the Rancho Mirage location needed to be temporarily closed due to the incidents overnight.
