Casino developer Nigel White speaks up at the Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerce meeting Tuesday. White predicted ground will be broken on the controversial casino project some time in 2020.

The Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerce meeting Tuesday was dedicated to “sound bites” (brief updates from local businesses) but the talk took an unexpected turn when casino developer Nigel White used his five minutes to make a surprise claim about the proposed Timbisha Shoshone casino project.
“My prediction at the end of the day is . . . we will break ground in 2020,” White said about the controversial project.
