China Lake Properties demands sale of casino land

Another development has arisen which may or may not force the city's hand in selling the property intended for a Timbisha Shoshone casino. 

China Lake Properties is demanding the sale of the property intended for a casino in Ridgecrest. A letter dated June 5 to Ridgecrest City Manager Ron Strand from the Menke Law Firm states that CLP wants to exercise its option to have the property sold to Global Investment Enterprise Ridgecrest, LLC. CLP is demanding the sale of the property for $5.5 million – the same purchase price that was negotiated with the city in 2016.


Menke represents CLP, the entity which transferred the property to the city in 2000.
