EPA lifts restrictions on Cabazon reservation recycling facility

The Environmental Protection Agency has lifted orders dating back eight years for a dump-turned-recycling facility on the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians reservation in the eastern Coachella Valley.

This comes as Western Environmental LLC and WRT Indio LLC were forced to temporarily close and clean up by the EPA in 2011 after Mecca community members complained about odors coming from the sites.
