Last Thursday, two months after a new Chairman, Byron Nelson Jr., was sworn in for Hoopa Tribe, he signed letters firing the relatively new Chief of Hoopa Police, Dana Norton, and one of his sergeants, Michael Hass, a former Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy who had just been hired in June.
