Sports betting would be allowed at Native American casinos and at racetracks in California under a proposed ballot measure backed by a coalition of tribes.

The tribes announced Wednesday, Nov. 13, that they had filed a proposed constitutional amendment for the November 2020 ballot to legalize sports wagering in the state. The move comes more than a year after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a federal ban on sports betting.
