The Kern County Board of Supervisors take a lot of hits from their critics but always seems to stay the course as they develop a plan to make the county the best it can be without taxing residents.

When the oil crunch came and the bottom dropped out of cash flow, supervisors reacted with a plan to assure county fiscal responsibility. Nobody likes the jobs lost through consolidation or having to work harder, but everybody chipped in.
