Redding Mayor Julie Winter apologizes to Native American people for 'great injustices'

California Governor Gavin Newsom did it.

President Barack Obama did it.

And now Redding Mayor Julie Winter has become the latest politician to apologize to Native American tribal leaders for the violence perpetrated against their ancestors in America.

Standing on stage with three local Native American leaders, Winter said she didn't think such an acknowledgement had ever been given by a local politician.
