Riverside County in California reaches deal on tribe’s plan for new casino

September 24, 2019 The casino is planned for a 13-acre lot in Cathedral City, at the northwest corner of East Palm Canyon Drive and Date Palm Drive. It would be the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians' third casino.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians will pay Riverside County $125,000 this fiscal year for mental health care, gambling addiction and substance abuse.

Future compensation will be determined once the planned casino opens. The first payment will be earmarked for the Riverside University Health System-Behavioral Health Department, Desert Sun reports.
