Shingle Springs tribe makes $1.5 million land purchase near Red Hawk Casino

The Native American tribe that owns Red Hawk Casino near Placerville has purchased more land around the casino.
Public records show the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians recently bought 10 acres in a residential area behind the casino from a family trust. The purchase price was $1.5 million.

The property is undeveloped, and lies just outside the border of the Shingle Springs Rancheria, to the northwest of the casino, although its not connected to the rancheria or casino by any direct roads.
