After many years of planning and two years of construction, two major county road improvement projects, one in Escondido, the other in Ramona, are nearly complete.

Bear Valley Parkway in Escondido has been widened from two to four lanes along a mile-long segment of the road in county jurisdiction but surrounded by Escondido. The new segment is now open to traffic and a ribbon-cutting ceremony is being planned.
