We write today regarding the proposed Kern County casino by the recently reaffirmed Tejon Tribe and Cannery Row, owned by Millenium Gaming Inc. a Las Vegas based company. This is a critically important issue to Kern County and a test of the County’s leadership. It is imperative that the County understand that the steps it takes now not only will have local impacts, but will influence efforts by other groups to develop similar projects within the County as well as evolving tribal gaming polices at the state and federal level.
